Mark you calendar! JANUARY 15 – JANUARY 18th, 2015 (MLK Day Weekend). Where is it? Same place as always! So … how much does it cost? You can register for the whole weekend for $60. A one-day registration is a measly $30! And don’t forget to order your WO’15 tee-shirts. Just click on the links below… Weekend Registration: $60 One-Day Registration: $30 I’m new to all this … what is Winter Offensive? Winter Offensive is an MMP-sponsored tournament and convention. Once again, MMP is proud to announce the proceeds from raffle sales, tee-shirt sales, and entry fees will go to the World War Two Foundation. The WorldWar Two Foundation, is an organization dedicated to preserving the stories of World War Two veterans for future generations. We obviously support fostering interest in military history, and the Foundation does just that. And if you are new to all this, then Winter Offensive is the place to be. MMP and Winter Offensive have always been a “newbie” friendly environment. So, if you’re new to gaming, looking to transition from ASL Starter Kit to full ASL or just looking to play any of MMPs many exciting games, make sure you come to Winter Offensive!

In the Pipeline
VCS Salerno, MMPs new Variable Combat Series kicks off with Salerno as it’s introductory title. This game has been a long time coming, but we at MMP remain confident this is a series that will be enjoyed. Future titles in the series already in design. If you hurry…you might be able to squeeze a preorder in before we start shipping! After Salenro we are looking at Winter Offensive and the usual ASL goodies. See Chas’s ASL Roundup elsewhere in this newsletter. After Winter Offensive we expect to dial up on highly anticipated titles like Day of Days, Kawaguchi’s Gamble and a few other surprises. Stay tuned!

From the IGS Table
Hi folks and a happy holidays to all. Things are moving along on the IGS front and we have several projects progressing quickly towards either publication or pre-order shortly. The Devil’s Cauldron reprint is now available on our preorder page! Now is your chance to own the title that kicked off our GTS line of games. This is a straight reprint of the classic title with the newest 1.1 version rules introduced in No Question of Surrender. Preorder yours today! Warriors of Japan has been handed in to Niko for final art to prepare for publishing. We still have a few pre-orders needed to get this to you but we’ll be ready to go very soon. We are very close to getting over the pre-order number needed, so please get your pre-orders in so we can have this on your table soon! The Greatest Day: Sword, Juno, and Gold Beaches approaches pre-order with just one minor, non-game-related issue to finalize over the next few weeks. We apologize for the delay and promise you should be able to pre-order this one soon. This is a massive game and the first in a three game series covering the first week of the Normandy battles. If you’d like to play this one next month and be the first on your block to stress over landing on a Commonwealth Beach on an overcast day in June over 60 years ago, The World Tour for this game continues and the game will next be on a table at Brogfest on January 21-25 in Charleston, SC. If you’re in the neighborhood and want to push some counters around, shoot me an email and I’ll get you set up. We also have two new games undergoing preparation for pre-order. Both of these titles have been handed in to Niko for final art. Smoke on the Water is a tentatively titled CDG on Pacific in World War Two. A worthy follow-up to Fire in the Sky, Smoke on the Water uses a card driven game system to build on the Japanese experience of the war to present a unique game on this theater. We are very happy to have this new Japanese design to offer for pre-order soon. The First Team is another tentatively titled game. This game features a cards-only simulation of the battles of Guadalcanal. Quick and easy to learn but still with a lot of history behind it, this one will be great when you have that wargame itch but not much time or space to play. An even faster introductory game simulating the Battle of Midway is included in the box. Look for it on pre-order! |

As you read this, the last of the Hakkaa Päälle! components are being finished off. Box and counters are already at the printer, and rules, charts, and scenarios will soon follow. The module will include several replacement Chapter Dividers and rules pages incorporating new and updated rules as well as examples covering additions like Aerosans and Prepared Fire Zones. We are also eagerly anticipating the impending arrival of Red October, the “companion” HASL to Red Barricades. Red October will feature two new maps, seven scenarios, and two campaign games covering the fighting in and around the Krasny Oktyabr (Red October) steel factory. Red October was designed by Charlie Kibler. Gary Fortenberry has been overseeing its playtest. We’ll have more information on this HASL soon. We’re looking forward to our Winter Offensive 2015 ASL Mini-Tournaments and hope to see you there!! This year’s Winter Offensive Bonus Pack will feature three new Pete Shelling scenarios employing boards created from two new “board-specific” overlays designed in a “BSO Challenge” at the Gamesquad website. These first two entries use boards 10 and 17 as their basis, and their flexibility is displayed via scenario designs covering the East Front (Russians/Partisans vs Germans), the Battle of the Bulge (Germans vs Americans), and the PTO (American vs Japanese).
